TIRANA, Aug. 16 – In another scuffling gesture the Ministry of Public Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication of the Democratic-Party-led government on Wednesday made a statement accusing the Tirana city hall run by the opposition Socialists that it had spent $450,000 for publicity works and television advertisements. That is 50 million leks less than the annual operational budget of the ministry, said a statement, adding that the ministry managed 10 budgetary institutions and 15 other agencies and some 60 percent of the state budget. The ministry said that was an abuse of funds saying that those monies could be better spent on works benefiting Tirana residents.
