TIRANA, July 25 – Leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) Ilir Meta said Tuesday that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe should immediately interfere in the electoral reform in the country as it was its report that noted shortcomings from the previous electoral process. Meta said that other international institutions should be also involved in the proc4ess, that has been stalled following the debate of the majority with the opposition on the use or not of the temporary registers’ list. “They (OSCE) should make it clear to the government and the opposition which are standards for free elections. It is not enough only to say general words that they cannot interfere into Albania’s internal problems. It is well known that the importance of free elections is very high even when considering the European integration,” said Meta, who criticized the OSCE of “a lot of deficit in successfully accomplishing this role in Albania.”
