TIRANA, Oct. 4 – Albania held Wednesday a beauty contest for animals. The firs such a contest is believed to have been held in England in 1873. owners of many cats and dogs convened at the International Cultural Center to introduce them. The competition was organized by the Eden Center and the Association of the Veterinarians. Participants said that many animals are in the streets and no one is paying attention to them. Albanians have long been holding different animals at their homes. The most luxurious cat was declared Viki, a fat white one of Persian origin, 9 years old owned from Valbona Dervishi. There were ten cats and 16 dogs participating in the race. Lordi was the winner among the dogs owned by Klaus and Tobias. Sparki was declared the hungriest dog.
