Carla Del Ponte Is Not Carla Del Ponte

Carla del Ponte has written a book. In her book, amongst other things, she claims that prior to execution by the Kosovo Liberation Army, vital body organs of at least three hundred Serb soldiers were removed and sold in the West. This occurred in the North of Albania-says the writer of the book; more precisely, in the village of Gurr묠Burrel District (North East Albania).
It can’t be maintained that the village of Gurr묠one of the poorest villages of the poorest region in Northern Albania is altogether abandoned. There are still a handful of families subsisting there. The few farmers who remain in the village, work the little land available and plant crops with the most primitive of implements. The national road network does not run past the village of Gurr롡nd it is a major joy when the village has electricity. The landline telephone system is nothing but a relic of the time under communism, and the former dilapidated building that was once the local Post Office has not functioned for years. Here, the locals travel on pack animals and those of them who have family members living and working abroad need to travel several hours to the nearest Western Union Office from where they withdraw money sent by their relatives. The out-patent’s clinic in the village of Gurr롯pened in the time of the communist regime, lies in ruin and a doctor will come out to Gurr롯nce a month to check up on the remaining villagers. And it is precisely in this village of Gurr롴hat “the greatest crime” was apparently committed, upholds Carla del Ponte. In this gorge, in between the mountains, at some very carefully concealed location,(so well concealed that only Carla del Ponte managed to find it), one of the world’s most modern clinics was built. Ten years ago, at this modern clinic, which some of the more advanced clinics in the West would have been envious of; yes precisely here, on this spot, a heinous crime was committed. Three hundred Serb solders were allegedly flown in here by the most modern KLA helicopters and before they were killed their organs were removed and shipped out to the West. Only Serbian soldiers were operated on and deprived of vital bodily organs! Albania’s only international airport is situated seven hours away from the village of Gurr묠but the transport of the organs of the Serbian soldiers was done by three special aircraft, the latest word in technology; aircraft that could take off without needing a runway. Carla del Ponte’s book fails to mention these details. She merely states that in this village, in Albania, where, as we have said there is no electric power, there are no roads, there is no water supply, no kind of a health clinic, no schools, there was a top-of-the-range surgical clinic, like one of the few that operated in the West!
Completely unexpectedly, the village of Gurr롨as become famous, together with its handful of locals. And all due to the book that relates “the great crime.” This book was written by Carla del Ponte. And the strangest thing is that everyone believes that Carla Del Ponte, the author of the book is Carla del Ponte, the Iron Lady and former Chief Prosecutor of the Court of the Hague.
When, finally, the news about the book published (the book that put the village of Gurr롯n the world map), reached the villagers in Gurr롴hey asked who Carla del Ponte is? The MP of the zone who had gone to calm them down explained that the writer of this book that mentions the famous clinic, the surgical operations, the planes and helicopters, is the former Chief Prosecutor at The Hague. The villagers then said that if that is the case then surely the clinic did exist. Carla del Ponte of The Hague could not make empty claims, so lets get out there are find this clinic! Everyone is confused. The villagers of Gurr롮ow believe that this book that bears this enormous untruth about their village, without electric power, was written by Carla del Ponte, the Chief Prosecutor. The MP of the zone who tends to be more diplomatic about this issue, having served as Albania’s Ambassador in a European country, also feels confused, believing that this book was truly written by del Ponte. However, things don’t end here. The Foreign Affairs Minister, who has a good knowledge of how Europe works and who studied there for many years, precisely in the state where the Court of The Hague is located, he too has made an error believing that the book was written by Carla Del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor at the Court of The Hague. In fact every individual who believed this, actually believes in a lunacy. Carla del Ponte, the writer of the book is not Carla del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor. Carla del Ponte is another person with the same name, because, naturally it is beyond reason that Carla del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor would never invent such lies and deception and could not maintain such idiosyncrasies.
