Immigrants-to-be stopped in Vlora

VLORA, Oct. 24 – Tuesday police stopped a group of six Albanian youngsters suspected of trying to illegally cross into Italy in a speedboat. They were blocked at Himara seaside. The youngsters, aged 16-20 years old, were believed to be waiting for a boat owner to cross the seas. They were from the districts of Berat and Kucova.
In another case police arrested Sherif Vrioni, 46, the owner of a boat that was blocked for trying to traffic illegally 23 persons into Italy in July this year. Police arrested at the time three fishermen but not Vrioni who is the owner of the boat. It had been stopped with the immigrants-to-be in the international waters some 15 miles from the Durres bay.
