TIRANA, Oct. 2 – The Justice and Integration Party and the Institute for Studies on Cameria protested against a statement of the Greek ambassador to Albania saying that the Cam population, which has once been of Greek citizenship, had collaborated with the fascist occupiers back during World War II. He added that because of that the population had left the country on their own will. The party said that such a stand shows that Athens and Tirana have should have an identical stand, and such a mistake of a statement would not help keep strong relations between the two countries. The party and the institute both denounced the statement saying that is not true. The party repeated that it will follow the same legal procedure to win back their rights in Greece. The Cam community claims Greek citizenship to be returned to them and rewin their properties in Greece.
