What has been written about Pirgu

The Donati Family has a truly top class act in itself, with the inestimable Elena Zilio who interprets Zita and the young Albanian tenor Saimir Pirgu who presented a wonderful rendition of Rinuccio in this opera, “Guardian Unlimited.”
Saimir Pirgu is a true discovery amongst the young tenors, and Pirgu’s interpretation of Rinuccio drives this fact home. He produced an absolutely beautiful performance of the part, “Firenze e come un albero fiorito.” He used magnificent tones during his entire rendition. Dina Kusnetsova, in the role of Laureta did not have the charm to match. She did not appear as sweet as she should have in the rendition of “O Mio Babbino Caro” alongside the Albanian artist.”
