TIRANA, Jan. 17 – Construction of a new hospital started Wednesday at Mother Teresa hospitals center and it is to be completed in 18 months. The new hospital will have the emergency, laboratories and other pavilions. Its cost of construction was $21 million which come from the Council of Europe Bank with $14 million and the rest from the Albanian government. It will be built by the Italian company Inso & Consta which is a well-known one in the European market of hospital construction. It was selected after an international tender. Health Minister Maksim Cikuli said that was part of a six-stage big project costing some $130 million and which is to last for several years in an effort to bring about total rehabilitation of the main health center in the country.
