GJIROKASTRA, Nov 1 – Albanian police have seized more than 200 kilograms of marijuana in the southern village of Lazarat.
The operation, which took place on Saturday, started after a tipoff from the village believed to be one of the biggest marijuana producers in the country.
Police did not succeed in detaining the masterminds of the drug ring as they managed to escape.
Albania is considered to be a main marijuana, or cannabis sativa, producer on the continent.
