TIRANA, May 28 – The Tirana City Hall said Tuesday that it had launched an international tender for the construction of the capital’s new northern boulevard.
The Tirana City Hall has Euro 61 million in funding for the implementation of its Northern Boulevard and Rehabilitation of Tirana River Project, plans of which have been prepared by British f Grimshaw Architects. The works on this project will be implemented through a Euro 54 million financing agreement signed last April between the Albanian government and the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, and a grant of Euro 7 million from the Qatari Government.
The project includes a new train station and a big underground parking that will be linked with a tram going into the city center up to the Mother Teresa square. The new boulevard will also include a new Justice Palace, a new City Hall building and other public institutions and business centers.
