Albania signs deal with Vatican on economic, taxation issues

TIRANA, Dec. 3 – Finance Minister Ridvan Bode and Vatican Archbishop Giovanni Bulaitis signed Monday an agreement on economic and taxation relations between the two entities. The deal aims at a precise clarification of the legislation on relations with the Catholic Church in Albania and also arrangement of some property ties, according to a statement. The agreement also releases Vatican from an y taxation duties. Based on the deal the Catholic Church may freely be supplied with financial and material grants and gifts from believers in the country and abroad. They would not have any tax duties.The Catholic Church is also excluded from taxes on property, buildings used by them.
