Extraditions To And From Albania

TIRANA, April 20 – Many Albanians have been extradited from other countries to serve their imprisonment at home and some also arrested in Albania to be extradited abroad.
On Tuesday Florin Gjoni, 40, was extradited from Milan, Italy. In 2004 he was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment for murder.
Also from Italy there was extradited Alit Nurka, 51. In 1988 (before the fall of the communist regime) he was sentenced to death for a murder. That sentence was converted to 25 life imprisonment in 1998. He has still 14 years to serve.
Last week Thursday Agim Hoxha, 30, was extradited from Athens, Greece to serve five years imprisonment for helping and organizing illegal border crossing. He had committed that crime in 2008 assisting some persons to cross the border in compensation of an amount of money.
Haxhi Kuqja, 47, was extradited also from Greece. In 1997 he was sentenced to 23 years imprisonment for a murder.
Mefail Jakupi, 31, a Macedonian Albania, was arrested at the Durres port based on an international arrest warrant. Jakupi is sentenced from Macedonian court to two years imprisonment for committing crimes against health and property in 2006.
Shiqeri Idrizi, 26, was extradited to neighboring Kosovo where he was wanted for murder and illegal weapon posse
