TIRANA, Oct 8ؔhe Albanian economy is expected to face difficulties in the second half of 2009 due to the financial crisis, according to the central bank’s latest economic bulletin, domestic newspaper Korrieri reported.
The current financial macroeconomic situation makes it difficult to find the internal sources for spurring economic growth, the Bank of Albania said.
One way to escape the crisis, according to the central bank, is to increase exports and the influx of foreign currency.
“The improvement of trade terms represents a balancing alternative to preserve long-term economic rhythm and macroeconomic balance,” the Bank of Albania said.
“The undeveloped capital markets in the country do not support the self-correction of trade terms and of the economy as a whole. In these conditions, preparation and implementation of macroeconomic policies should focus on the support of medium and long-term economic stability.”
