GJIROKAST̒- The irrigation system of the Dropulli plains will be rehabilitated by September of next year thanks to a plan financed by a EU grant of 209.000 euros, in the context of the “Interreg III” program. The official presentation of this project was announced at the District of Gjirokastra, along with the Integration Ministry in collaboration with the Epir District administration for cross border projects. Experts have already started their work involving measurements and documentation. The project will last one year and has two stages to increase agriculture in the area. District head, Spiro Ksera, emphasized that in assisting the area the project will encourage NGOs and other partners to apply for more cross border grants and projects to benefit the development of the southern region.
