TIRANA, May 29 – An explosion at a building site last Friday night in Tirana injured two pedestrians and caused damage to nearby buildings and vehicles, police said.
Police said an explosive device was set at the site, and they are investigating the case.
The explosion occurred at about 9:30 p.m. in Tirana’s Vasil Shanto neighborhood.
The blast caused considerable damages to the building and several cars parked close to the site as well as nearby buildings.
Though not confirmed in the official police statement, local media reported the attack was aimed as a warning to the owner of the building under construction, which was recently transferred to him following a bank foreclosure.
