TIRANA, Nov. 2 – European Movement Albania (EMA) issued a report only a few days before the decision of the EU Council of Ministers on visa liberalization with Albania and Bosnia Herzegovina — Monitoring Report on the Visa Liberalization Process with Albania – The End and the Beginning.
It covers the last reform steps undertaken by the Albanian institutions that convinced the European Commission to propose amending the Schengen Regulation and the European Parliament to vote largely in favor of this proposal.
The monitoring report analyses the evolution of the process focusing in particular on three outstanding benchmarks of the roadmap.
Through this document EMA aims to identify the best experiences and to encourage state and non state actors to keep the pace of reforms.
The report said lessons learned from the liberalization process should be used in the framework of the democratization of the country as well as to this crucial process for Albania such as European integration.
Albania waits for the positive decision next week when the EU’s Council of Ministers convenes.
