TIRANA, May 6 – In a positive move for Albania’s efforts to attract more tourists and also increase accessibility, Slovenia’s Adria Airways boss Mark Anzur said the carrier would expand its operations from Tirana next year, adding new routes.

The airline will base an aircraft in the Albanian capital next year. Last month, Adria launched flights from Tirana to Brussels and Paris, complementing its existing services from the city to Frankfurt and Ljubljana.

“We have a 5 percent market share in Tirana and we are the third busiest carrier. Albania is fast growing and traffic is mainly focused on Italy. On the other hand, there is also strong growth in traffic between Albania and Germany,” the CEO said, adding they were considering at least two new routes.
