“Conad Adriatik” – important entrance in Albanian market

TIRANA, DURRES, March.7 – within 2007 “Conad Adriatik” will open 5 new branches in Albania and up to 2009 it will as well build two shopping centers with hypermarket sections. The central warehouse that will be the supply point will be completed within this year in Durres. Conad will collaborate with different partners regarding the management of its different centers. In the capital Tirana, its strategic partner is “food Trade”, created as a joint venture with tow Albanian collaborators while a new partner is being established for the Durres sites. One of the firm’s managers, Antonio di Ferdinando commented that the company sees this expansion possibility in the context of internationalizing the brand’s name and furthering the reputation and activity of Conad. Conad plans to offer to Albanian clients all the range of qualitative and innovative services that make up its name. The focus will also be in the combination of characteristic products from Italy and Albania at reasonable prices. “Conad Adriatik” is part of the “Conad” group established in 1972 through the common initiative of several small and medium size retail businesses in the province of Piceno. The headquarters are in Stella di Monsampolo. The corporate structure merger between 246 associates achieved the benefits of extensive supply chains combined with expertise in of traditional trade players. The demands of the market are met through a careful attentiveness and a large chain of shops, supermarkets and hypermarkets in the region. the group has consistent expansion plans and a strong leader presence in its operating areas. Its average market share is 23 percent for the sites it is present in.
