NATO Parliamentary Assembly visits to Albania

TIRANA, April 23 – A delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly visited Albania Monday to discuss the country’s efforts toward integration as a member of the alliance in the near future. Albania expects to be invited as a full member in 2008. during the meetings the delegation learnt about the country’s efforts and reforms to achieve NATO-required standards. Albania considers the integration process into NATO as a very important one politically aiming at reforming the whole society in all the spheres, according to Foreign Minister Besnik Mustafaj.
Albanian authorities also spoke about their participation into international peacekeeping missions _ Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq _ and their regional role as a factor of peace and stability in the Balkan
