Opposition delegation visits EU headquarters

TIRANA, June 24 – A delegation of the main opposition Socialist Party, headed by Edi Rama, visited European Union headquarters in Brussels to meet with top officials there.
Rama took with him the heads of the party’s departments to hold meetings with senior EU officials. Among the EU officials they met were senior enlargement members such as Pierre Mirel and Dirk Lange, as well as others.
The opposition leader has mentioned, in a previous visit to Brussels, that Albania should request membership this autumn. The opposition has also appealed to the Tirana government to apply for EU membership. (Tirana Times Staff)
