TIRANA, March 3 – The Ministries of Economy in Albania and Macedonia held a business forum on the economic ties between the two neighboring countries in Tirana.
Macedonia is considered an important partner to Albania’s regional commerce.
In 2008 the commercial exchange was 105 million Euros.
The two countries agreed to negotiate on liberalizing their exchange of agricultural products within May of this year.
The forum’s goal was to find the instruments, tools, and mechanisms to make bilateral commercial ties more efficient.
Both countries are looking forward to one day becoming full members of the European Union, though Macedonia is a step ahead as it has already asked to start negotiations on their candidate status.
