TIRANA, March 9 – Albania is ready to get back some 50 prisoners serving their terms in neighboring Italy.
This arrangement was agreed to during Albanian Justice Minister Enkelejd Alibeaj’s visit and talks in Italy with his counterpart Angelino Alfano when he discussed further strengthening the cooperation in the justice systems.
Alfano also proposed to, “immediately initiate a joint working group between the practitioners of the respective ministries, aimed at implementing and sharing the most important reforms and strengthening the fight against organized crime.”
Both countries discussed how they could intensify bilateral relations in justice, strengthen the dynamics of collaboration in relation to extradition proceedings and assistance in criminal proceedings under international cooperation.
