Albtelecom supports first resource center, Protik

TIRANA, Oct. 15 – Turkish-owned fixed-line phone operator and internet provider Albtelecom have supported the establishment of the first Resource and Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology, Protik, an initiative of the Albanian government. The center was inaugurated with a special ceremony, organized in the new offices in Tirana. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony Innovation and IT Minister Pollo thanked Albtelecom and the other partners who with their support enabled the opening and operation of this center.
“Albtelecom will continue to support this center as in the early days when it was just an idea. We are ready to continue the partnership as this is the first resource center for information technology in Albania, and Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile are the largest telecommunications company in the country, ” said Mr. Murat ȡkmak, Deputy General Director in Albtelecom and Eagle Mobile.
Other supporters of this initiative are: Albanian-American Foundation for Development (AADF), USAID, Microsoft Albania, Cisco and Hewlett-Packard.
