TIRANA, Dec. 22 – Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Kosta Barka signed with Austrian Ambassador Klaus Dekowtisch and agreement on a project on genre equality. The 785,000 euro project will last from 2007 to 2010 trying to prepare and raise capacities of officials on genre equality. It will help ministries and other institutions to play a major role in that effort. A new draft law on genre equality is expected to e passed son by the parliament. Austria has been a main donor to post-communist Albania giving 22 million euro since 1990 and it has already planned another grant of 2.2 million euro for 2007.
