TIRANA, March 7 – The Convention on Preventing Terrorism of the Council of Europe enters into force in June 1 in Albania, the Interior Ministry reported Wednesday. The convention served to update the anti-terrorist steps at the global level with an efficient and powerful response to the threats of terrorism. It also serves to strengthen the international cooperation in extradition cases and reciprocal assistance, according to a police statement. The Albanian parliament ratified the convention in November last year. Together with Albania June 1 will serve for some other countries like Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine.
