TIRANA, March 22 – A Serbian goalkeeper of the Apolonia football club of Fieri caused an incident this Sunday when he removed the Albanian flag from the hands of a fan who had entered the pitch before an opponent would shoot the penalty.
After Vilson Cakovic snatched the flag from the fan’s hands his team players rushed to take it from his hands. Everybody was reminded of the same incident in Belgrade at the last year’s European qualifier held in Belgrade, Serbia.
To soothe and normalize the situation Apolonia coach, Artan Mergjyshi had to replace Cakovic.
The Serb goalkeeper later said in interviews he did not intended that because of the flag but only to take away the fan and let the game proceed.
