TIRANA, March 14 – A man who had been temporarily released from prison was shot dead on Monday near his home in the northern city of Shkodra, apparently on blood feud. Police said Astrit Kurmenaj, 45, had been given a four-day leave from Shenkoll prison in Lezha where he was serving his 14-year sentence for killing a person back in 2003.
Police said they have detained several persons, among whom some are suspected of the revenge killing.
The victim was shot dead with a bullet in his head in the afternoon while walking home.
