TIRANA, July 30 – Italian Senator Alfredo Mantica visited Tirana Wednesday, offering his country’s full support for Albania’s integration efforts into Euro-Atlantic institutions.
Italy is one of Albania’s main supporters in its integrating efforts.
Italy, which shelters hundreds of thousands of Albanian immigrants, is also Albania’s main trading partner.
Mantica said that despite internal developments in the European Union, Italy will always support its enlargement with the western Balkan countries.
Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha said these small countries should not be discouraged by the rejection of the Lisbon Treaty in Ireland and other sentiments in Europe. (Tirana Times Staff)
