Less road accidents after strict measures

TIRANA, March 10 – The number of road accidents fell significantly in February following strict measures taken by police.
Figures show there were 63 accidents (down from 82 in January) with 15 victims compared to of 37 victims in January.
Police introduced strict measures including more control in the road, mandatory use of seat belts and the use of short lights while driving outside of urban areas, even during daylight. Police added they are pressing authorities for more traffic control tools to be installed in the roads.(Tirana Times Staff)
