VLORA, March 4 – Police reported Tuesday they had seized 3.8 metric tons of cannabis sativa in the southwestern city of Vlora on Monday and Tuesday, arresting three people using the van to transport it. It is believed the drugs were destined to Italy.
Two days earlier police seized 130 kilograms of cannabis in a car trying to travel with a ferry toward Italy. They also arrested the driver.
Many tons of drugs have been seized in Vlora this year as the city serves as a place from where it may go toward nearby Italy, often in speedboats, police said.
