TIRANA, March 24 – Police arrested on Tuesday a person who had killed two policemen the night before.
Afrim Hasani was found Tuesday midday not far from the Kukes city. The night before he had shot dead Shkelzen Dobrushi and Ramazan Hila, two police officers waiting at a coffee bar to take their night shift.
A week ago the two of them sere aggressively resisted a search for illegal weapons at Hasani’s home in a village 225 kilometers northeast of the capital, Tirana. Following that the two policemen opened a formal investigation on Hasani, which presumably served as the cause of his following act.
Monday evening the man fired volleys of gunfire against the officers at a coffee bar leaving them both dead.
Following that police issued an arrest warrant with a reward of 50,000 Euros for any information leading to his arrest.
It has been five years since a police officer was last killed in the line of duty in Albania.
