TIRANA, May 12 – President Bamir Topi left for Israel to take part at an international conference to be held in Jerusalem on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the creation of the state there. Many other world leader are expected to be there, including U.S. President George W. Bush. Albania was the only country which protected thousands of Jews during World War II when they were persecuted by the German Nazis.(Tirana Times Staff)
