TIRANA, July 26 – The Untied Nations organizations – UNDP, UNICEF and OCHA – gave a grant of $253,000 to Albanian authorities to help them compile the projects of rehabilitation of the areas affected from the flood earlier this year.
The Shkodra and Malesi e Madhe districts were flooded in January following heavy rain when the authorities were obliged to open the gates of the Drini River hydro power stations. Thousands of hectares, businesses and houses were damaged during the first half of January
The government is trying to help them restore the previous life. But that needs a lot of money to invest in infrastructure and other areas.
