TIRANA, Jan.24 – In the context of anti-terrorism measures, the mobile company Vodafone has set up new rules for all its clients. These regulations require all Vodafone customers to register with one of the offices, presenting all necessary legal documentation of their identity. The default document would be the passport but birth certificates and family certificates in the case of people under 18 are also valid. The deadline to complete the registration is June 30 of this year. After that date Vodafone will interrupt its service to clients that have not complied with the rule. Judicial and business subjects have more complex requirements as they need to present their specific files. The rules are intended to minimize criminal activity and identity-theft related problems, help the order authorities in their crime fights and also comply with the war on terror, for which Albania has been an ardent and early ally.
