TIRANA, March 26 – Albanian translator Mimoza Hysa has been honoured with the National Italian Translation Award for her Italian cultural diffusion through the translation of several works into Albanian.
She was awarded the prize by the Italian Ministry for Heritage and Cultural Activities in a ceremony at the National Library in Rome.
Hysa, who has translated into Albanian works by Mazzantini, Buzatti, Tabucchi, said she dedicated the award to the generations of Albanian translators and her professors who taught her that “translation is above all an opening up to the world and accepting the other’s culture to enrich oneself.”
