TIRANA, Oct 20 – British police arrested Ilir Kumbaro, a former secret policeman in Albania, who is a main suspect and defendant in the case of a Macedonian-Albanian businessman who went missing in 1995 and is presumed dead.
Kumbaro is accused of kidnapping the businessman, Hoxha, torturing him to death and, also, of knowing the whereabouts of his corpse.
Kumbaro fled the country 11 years ago and lived in London under a false identity.
The Hoxha case was also mentioned during the recent visit to Albania by the British chief prosecutor, Ken McDonalds.
