For the first time, the first troupe of ballet of Albania participated with a three-day tour  at the 13th edition of Festival of Dance in Serbia, on April 8, 9, and 10, 2016, a show that was received very well by the Serbian public.

The TKOB troupe was represented with the choreographic pieces of La Stravaganza & Noces  by Angelin Preljocaj, which was staged in Belgrade, Novi Sad, and NiŠ¡.

“It’s a world-class choreographer, whom we know and this has been a party for the public and we are very satisfied,” said Ada Raspor, the first Serbian ballerina.

“We had an exceptional hospitality. We felt like home. It seems that art is not connected to politics at all, it simplifies things and makes them more beautiful,” said Rovena Shqefi while Elda Logo thanked the Serbian public for their applause and for making here feel really good.

Festival Dance is one of the most important events in the region. So far, around 200 choreography pieces have been performed.  The invitation to participate came from Dejan Savic, Director of the National Opera of Belgrade who came to Albania on September 26, 2015 after an invitation from Ilir Kerni, the TKOB director.

Created in 1989, Noces Ballet was staged by Angelin Preljocaj with music by Igor Stravinsky. “Stravaganza Ballet reminds me of my personal history, the path I have followed. I am very touched that this part will be staged by the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet,” according to Preljocaj.

“Although the troupe of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet has performed many times abroad, this tour is an important event in terms of cooperation and exchanges in art and culture between Albania and Serbia,” according to a press release by the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

This tournament is a very important event that helps develop the collaboration between the two countries.
