TIRANA, Dec. 18 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha went to Brussels last week to attend the European People’s Party summit at the Bouchout Castle in the Flemish town of Meise.
Attending the summit were powerful personalities of European politics, EU heads of state and government and the leaders of the opposition of the European People’s Party (EPP), along with the President of the European Council Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Commission Jos額anuel Barroso and the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek.
Wilfried Martens, the President of the EPP, host the EPP Summit that focused on the preparation of the European Council meeting of 17 June.
Berisha used the meeting to meet with many counterparts from European countries and talk about the country’s efforts of integration into the bloc.
The EPP consists of 14 EU and five non-EU heads of state and government like: President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orb⮬ Prime Minister Donald Tusk of Poland, PM of Italy Silvio Berlusconi, Latvia’s Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, Prime Minister of Romania Emil Boc, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov, Andrius Kubilius, Prime Minister of Lithuania and Prime Minister Iveta Radi鰶ᡯf Slovakia.
