Constitutional Court opinion sought on elections case

TIRANA, Feb. 14 – The opposition Socialist Party has asked the Constitutional Court whether it is the parliament which should decide on the distribution of the zones in the country.
The move came after the Central Election Commission failed to do that and passed the decision to the parliament.
The opposition says that such a move may turn the country into a fascist regime.
Damian Gjiknuri, a lawmaker of the opposition in charge of the election preparation, said that the parliament is dominated by one party and if that move is done it shows it is totally unilateral, like the Nazi Germany did before World War II. They may achieve to pass a law with the parliamentary seats they have but that does not show it is a democratic one.
Such laws on the country’s election and future should be definitely be passed by all the involved political groupings.
The voters list is another issue debated in the daily political agenda.
The opposition says there are some 63,000 doubled names that are found in as living in two places. The governing Democrats say there are about 45,000.
So it is a fact there are doubled names and they should work to clear them.
