TIRANA, Oct. 13 – On Tuesday, police arrested six people who face charges of working together to illegally trafficked goods across the Shkodra Lake from neighboring Montenegro.

They were detained transporting 100 boxes of electric lamps. If they had come normally through the customs they would pay taxes on the good, thus the smuggling.

In another move police arrested a custom official and started criminal procedures for three others in western Fier city.

They were accused of allowing three fuel trucks to clear customs without paying the dues. The officers are charged with abuse of office.
