TIRANA, Oct. 2 – Enkelejd Zonja, a renowned Albanian painter based in Tirana, has been announced the winner of a “Live Art” young artists competition. He was handed over the award by Prime Minister Edi Rama in a ceremony held this week at the National Art Gallery.
Enkelejd Zonja was awarded a Euro 5,000 cash prize for his “The Red Scarf Cabaret” painting.
“Two kinds of waves are expected, a public that will display two different kinds of behavior: that of the creator, and that of the viewer of the work of art. It is the simple nature of a competition. The age criteria is the only arbitrary divider of the public,” organizers said.
The exhibition was curated by internationally renowned Albanian artist Artan Shabani and supported by Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania.
