TIRANA, June 9 – The Albanian Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy said on Monday that four companies, Italy’s Enel, Czech utility CEZ (CEZsp.PR), Austria’s EVN and Energy Steirmark, were interesting in participating in a tender for a controlling stake in its power distributor. Last month, Albania invited companies to buy between 51 and 76 percent of its power distributor arm.
These companies will take part in the later stage of the tender to be held in September, considered to be the largest and most complex privatization in Albania.
Albania has split KESH’s distribution business from its other activities. (Tirana Times Staff)
