TIRANA, May 10 – John Lennon, the world famous leader of the legendary Beatles rock band, is being displayed in a bronze statue in the coastal city of Durres. The monument created by sculptor Qazim Kertusha, shows John Lennon playing a guitar sitting in one of the public benches in central Durres close to the Venetian Tower.
Famous during the 60s, the Beatles’ music was forbidden in communist Albania but secretly admired by thousands of young men and women.
