Jordanian indicted for false documents

TIRANA, Feb 4 – A Jordanian was indicted by Tirana police after he was found to have falsified documentation of a presidential decree in order to obtain an Albanian citizenship.
Rayep Husam, 44, had managed to navigate through necessary the procedures and was on the verge of getting an Albanian passport when the economic anti-crime unit discovered his falsified presidential decree.
He had falsified a presidential decree of now-Prime Minister Sali Berisha in 1997 when he was president, claiming that he had already received Albanian citizenship.
A penal case against Husam has been started by the police.
Police are also investigating Husam’s motive for getting the Albanian passport.
