Tirana, 18 Wed 2009 – Albanian Konfindustria agreed to an energy complex in Porto Romano, Durres. On Wednesday they signed an agreement with “Enel” to support the development of such an investment.
“Through this agreement, “Enel” will collaborate with qualified Albanian companies for the fulfillment of programs and projects in the country,” stated a press release.
Hajredin Fratari, President of Albanian Konfindustria, agreed to support the new Energy Complex and offered technical assistance for all projects involving “Enel Albania.” In the memorandum, both sides agreed to consider as “strategic for the future economic development of the country” all “Enel” initiations in Albania and the development of the Energy Complex in particular.
The Complex will include a thermo central that could generate 800MW, using coal as 100% of the fuel source. It will also consist of a new cargo dock, a transmission airline of 400KV that will connect the Complex with the Albanian distribution system, and another underwater line of 500KV in the Adriatic connecting it with the Italian distribution system.
