TIRANA, Aug 15 – Faced with budget short falls, Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj called on the public and the business community to contribute funds to rehabilitate 31 city-run daycare units in the capital.
“The municipal administration will offer the required assistance to ensure that the 31 daycare units have a good start of the new school year,” Veliaj said.
There had been already some positive responses the municipality said, but more assistance was still needed.
Veliaj said the municipal government was having a heard time due to the bad financial shape the previous administration left behind, something former mayoral officials deny.
