TIRANA, Nov. 30 – The National History Museum, one of the most important museum institutions in Albania, served as a key attraction on the occasion of the national holidays of the 28-29 November, becoming crowded with visitors throughout the day. Hundreds of locals and tourists decided to visit the museum and familiarize themselves with the country’s history and culture, which chronologically starts from the Prehistoric time until the present day.

On the national Flag Day, around 6000 people visited the National History Museum, which had organized several events in honor of the celebrations. First was the “105th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence” , which was opened in collaboration with the National Center of Collectors of Albania and has as a main object the pen used to sign Albania’s Declaration of Independence.

Another important object was the telegraphic apparatus with which the Provisional Government of Vlora received and provided telegrams during the period 1912-1914; objects belonging to the protagonists of the declaration of Independence of Albania; flags of the Independence period, original photo of Ismail Qemali, photo of individuals who signed the Independence Declaration Act, original manuscripts, newspapers and magazines of that period, etc. The flags of patriotic societies took an important place in the exhibition as well, as they were the flags that sparked the desire in Albanian patriots for Albania to be free and independent. Following, the students of the “Gustav Majer” elementary school gave a concert with songs and rehearsals for the many people present in the hall of the National Historical Museum.

The second activity came as collaboration between the National Historical Museum and the National Opera and Ballet Theatre’s ballerina, Adela Muà§ollari and it consisted of younger children performing well-known domestic and foreign ballets.

On the National Liberation Day of the country, November 29, 1944, the National Historic Museum was part of the project and tradition already established by the Municipality of Tirana, as being part of the institutions that remain open for the White Night. On this occasion, 8,000 domestic and foreign visitors visited the pavilions and exhibitions of the National History Museum.
