TIRANA, June 18 – An olive oil production plant in the southern district of Berat has been seized and dismantled after failing to pay off soft loans instalments awarded by the Agriculture Ministry. The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development says it has dismantled an oil processing plant in Lapardha, Berat, which had benefited funds from Japanese donations under a previous 2KR project.
Agency representatives warned similar procedures would be followed with other agribusiness plants who failed to meet the terms of the contract.
The Agency has earlier seized an olive plant in Ndroq, outside Tirana.
