Remembering the Albanian Brigade in the Spanish civil war

TIRANA, Nov. 9 – The Spanish embassy organized an event remembering the figure of Petro Marko, his work “Hasta la Vista” and the memory of the Albanian Brigade during the Spanish civil war. ‘Liberty volunteers’ was the title of a magazine published in Madrid in 1937 by the Albanian fighters who sought to share their war experiences.
Seventy years after publishing this magazine and one hundred years from the birth of Petro Marko, the Spanish embassy took the occasion to analyze the novel “Hasta la Vista” and the poetry book “Lejan”. The seminar was greeted by Minister of Culture, Ylli Pango and the Spanish Ambassador Manuel Montobbio. Round tables of discussions hosted experts of philology and history from Spain and Albania as well as people connected to the Albanian Brigade of the Civil War.
