TIRANA, July 11 – Seven international jazz bands will be performing in Tirana in the second edition of the Tirana Jazz and World Music Festival. Bands from Albania, the United States, Turkey, Switzerland, German, Italy and Israel are participating in the three-day event which will be performing jazz and ethno-jazz in an open air stage at the Palace of Culture in the Tirana city centre from 16 to 18 July.
The festival comes in a post-election atmosphere being one of the few cultural events showcasing in Albania during these hot days.
Apart from Kely Band representing Albania, two other Albanian artists are participating in the festival with the bands. Gjon Guralumi represents Switzerland while Ervin Dhimo the United States.
The festival will also travel to the Apollonia archeological park in southwestern Albania after the three-day Tirana festival.
Last year, in the festival’s first edition, the international jazz bands performed in Durres and Shkodra after the three days in Tirana.
